ANF Technology, the innovative discoverer and developer of the NAFEN alumina nano fibers and related dispersion products, recently was awarded the maximum grant award from the EU’s Horizon 2020 science innovation program (€2.5m).
Seen as a means to drive economic growth and create jobs, Horizon 2020 has the political backing of Europe’s leaders and the Members of the European Parliament. They agreed that research is an investment in our future and so put it at the heart of the EU’s blueprint for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth and jobs.
By coupling research and innovation, Horizon 2020 is helping to achieve this with its emphasis on excellent science, industrial leadership and tackling societal challenges. The goal is to ensure Europe produces world-class science, removes barriers to innovation and makes it easier for the public and private sectors to work together in delivering innovation.” – http://ec.europa.eu/programmes/horizon2020/en/what-horizon-2020
According to Tim Ferland, ANF’s Commerical Director, “the H2020 grant allows ANF to continue to provide on-site development of our dispersion products so that our customers can easily incorporate NAFEN into their production processes. It will be of significant help in our continuing development efforts to meet the expectations and needs of the advanced materials and composites industries.”
NAFEN’s value-added impact on advanced material and composite engineering development is still only scratching the surface. With repeated results showing mechanical improvements in the range from 70-250% over normal product performance, there is significant potential for NAFEN to change the face of nano-enhanced materials forever. Low loading levels, ease of use and industrial production volumes allow ANF Technology to provide NAFEN on an world-wide basis, thus eliminating traditional barriers to the use of nano materials in wide-scale industrial production.”
Tim Ferland is the Commerical Operations Director of ANF Technology Limited, a UK registered company with production operations in Tallinn, Estonia. NAFEN is a registered trademark of ANF Technology Limited.
